[In-Person] How to Detox from Sugar after the Holidays
January 6 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am UTC+0
If holiday sweets have left you feeling bloated, heavy, sluggish, or just not yourself, it’s possible you’ve accumulated undigested food waste and need to gently detox. Often translated as ‘toxins’, undigested food waste is the gunk that builds up in the system after overeating or eating before the previous meal was digested. Ayurveda, the traditional medical system of India, offers detoxification methods which are highly sophisticated. Undigested food waste, called ama, creates a host of problems, from digestive disturbances and drowsiness, to indigestion, headache, stiffness in the lower back, loss of taste, and more.
In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn Ayurvedic methods to gently detox the system from ama, using simple herbs, house-made siddhajals or herbal waters, steam treatments, dietary guidelines, and more. You’ll discover unique weight management methods to support you through the winter, along with seasonal health guidelines, so you can feel balanced, vibrant, and fit, all winter-long.
